You stroked Renji's hair, letting the red strands slip through your fingers. Renji hummed in content, his eyes still closed. Smiling down at him, your fingers danced to his forehead, tracing along his tattoos. He opened his eyes and looked at you, his head still on your lap. You giggled softly at him and leaned your back against your cobalt blue walls. You wiggled your toes that stuck over the bed, trying to get some feeling back into them. Renji was stopping the blood flowing any further than your thighs where his head was resting.

"Shouldn't you be patrolling?" Your voice broke the silence that has settled in your bedroom. Renji opened his eyes and looked into your (e/c) eyes.

"I'm a trained shinigami, I can sense if a hollow is near. If they aren't exerting tremendous amounts of spiritual pressure the I know that aren't trying to eat a spirit," Renji stated. "And even if there was one then I wouldn't go anyway."

"Why not? Isn't it your duty as a shinigami?" You asked puzzled.

"Even you know about the balance between hollows and spirits. Killing too many hollows will disrupt the balance," Renji answered. "That, and I'm comfy here."

You smiled down at him, stroking his vibrant hair off his face. You could feel your cheeks heat up slightly. Renji grinned and reached up, cupping your neck. Applying a little pressure, he brought your face down to his. You closed your eyes as your lips met in a sweet chaste kiss. You drew back and resumed running your fingers through his hair.

"Renji?" You asked, breaking the silence that had settled again.

"Yeah," he answered, his eyes still closed.

"Can I plait your hair?" You asked, your head cocked to the side. Renji mock glared at you before smiling.

"After I've had a nap," He promised.
I don't own Renji or the picture.
